As the weather becomes cooler, kids are staying indoors more and spending less time outside. Winter can be a limited-activity time to keep your children entertained, especially here in Wisconsin! You and your children may already be getting stir-crazy!
To keep those little minds engaged and bodies moving, we’ve compiled a list of some fun Kenosha activities that will enable you to get out of the house for a safe winter activity-filled day!
Ice skating at Memorial Park
Every year, Memorial Park transforms into an ice rink measuring 32 feet by 60 feet! There is nothing better than this free ice skating experience! One can bring their own skates or rent some for no cost during rental hours. Ice skating is a great way to get kids outside and enjoy the snow and brisk winter air. Weather permitting, ice skating is open seven days a week.
Note: Regular ice skating rental hours are: 4 pm to 9 pm Monday through Fridays, 10 am to 9 pm on Saturdays, and 10 am to 6 pm on Sundays.
Tubing, sledding, or skiing/snowboarding at Wilmot Mountain
Wilmot Mountain is now open for the season! Tubing is an extremely fun winter activity you and your kiddos can enjoy! Wilmot’s tubing area has 22 lanes over 1,000 feet long, with tubes to use AND a conveyor lift to bring the tubes to the top. But the fun doesn’t stop there!
Wilmot offers plenty of sledding, skiing, and snowboarding hills that will surely have your family sleeping well when you are done! Afterward, grab some food at their various concessions available.
If you’re feeling more ambitious and want to try something new, sign up for some ski or snowboard lessons on the bunny hill and take on a new hobby with your kids. Ensure you have everything for your visit by checking out Wilmot’s packing list.
Snowshoe at Bristol Woods Park
Bristol Woods Park transforms into a snowy haven during the winter months, and what better way to experience it than by strapping on a pair of snowshoes! It’s the perfect opportunity to get the whole family outside and active in Wisconsin’s winter weather.
Need snowshoes? The Pringle Nature Center has you covered, offering affordable snowshoe rentals during designated hours. Rentals are just $5 and are free for members!
