May The Fourth Be With You! If you didn’t already know, May 4th is National Star Wars day, and we’re here to tell you some of our favorite Star Wars day ideas, projects, games, and crafts that you can do with your kids to celebrate the national holiday this year.

Whether your kiddo is into the new Star Wars cartoons or the original movie timeline, these are activities that the entire family is sure to love.

Indoor Star Wars Day Ideas

First things first – to kick off “May the 4th” activities you need something awesome to wear to show off your love for Star Wars. There are many different ways you can approach this; shopping together for a fun shirt, building a costume with supplies around the house, or simply using objects around the house and using your imagination!

Once your uniform for the day is established, you can begin to move into some May the 4th activities that activate your child’s fine motor skills and creativity – arts and crafts!

For Star Wars day ideas, you and your kiddo could paint their favorite Star Wars character together, or color a few sheets in a coloring book. Don’t have a Star Wars-themed coloring book? Outline a few fun characters and have your child color them in and make them come to life!

If you’re looking for something to allow for your child to have some downtime, snuggle up on the couch and pop in your favorite Star Wars movie or cartoon. This is something super easy that will also light up your kids’ day, and allow you some time to relax, too.

Outdoor Star Wars Day Ideas

There are so many fun, cheap, and easy activities to do outdoors with your kids to enjoy the spring weather. Use your imagination and create a Star Wars-themed scavenger hunt to do together, or use some free printable clues to help organize your hunt and make your kiddo excited. This encourages your child to use their critical thinking skills, while also keeping them engaged and entertained.

Another way to get active as a family could be by busting into a Death Star pinata and enjoying some sweet treats together. Let your kids practice their baseball swing, while you sit back and wait for the candy to pour out and watch their faces light up with excitement.

If your child is feeling more creative, but still wants to enjoy the spring weather outside, you can bring the fun of crafting outdoors with you by making some fun stained glass art with your family.

Stained glass art allows your kiddos to let their creativity flow and see their work in action. This will not only make them feel accomplished by seeing their work hanging on the windows but will also help liven up the decor in your house.

May 4th is a fantastic day to be intentional with your kids and celebrate a fun holiday together as a family. Although National Star Wars Day isn’t the most commonly known holiday, it will officially be one you and your family will never forget after May 4th, 2022. After all, as Obi-Wan Kenobi would say, “may the force will be with you, always”.
